Man, I tell you from an Aussie’s view point there is a lot of crazy politics going on in the US at the moment  – during the lead-up to the election.  And we pretty much scratch our head because… well as a pretty laid back country (for better or sometimes worse) we tend just not to care that much about politics (until of course we are up for a whinge over a beer at a BBQ).

But one thing I absolutely love that the US do and I wished we followed suit… National “X” Day.  I mean there is a national day for everything you can possibly imagine – particularly food and drink.

I mean in October alone there is National Home Made Cookie Day, National Noodle day, National Chocolate Cupcake Day, National Pumpkin Day, National Potato Day, Notional Yorkshire Pudding Day, National Chocolate Day, National Candy Corn Day, National Nut Day and my favourite – National Vodka Day!

But today we are celebrating none of those (although, vodka, chocolate, cupcake and cookies could work – hmmm there’s a recipe challenge)
